Annually, WVCA awards two (2) achievements at the Spring Conference. The nomination deadline is Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Nominations will be reviewed by the conference committee. WVCA will present each of the award recipients with a personal gift and a $100.00 donation to the charity of their choice.

The WVCA Professional Achievement Award recognizes a WVCA member for their outstanding professional achievements and contributions in engaging volunteers in our community. Nominations should acknowledge the work and efforts of a valuable volunteer engagement professional. 

Nominee must be:

• Current WVCA member. You may email wvcamembership@gmail.com to confirm the nominee is a registered member.
• In attendance at the May 6th-8th, 2026 Conference Thursday lunch.
• A paid volunteer engagement professional who has been a volunteer professional for at least five years.
• An outstanding volunteer professional: this may include achievements in recruitment, screening, training, retention, recognition, fundraising, or initiating new programs.
• A leader among peers: this may include as a member/officer of a professional organization.
• Involved in their community. This may include service as well as job duties.
• A resource to other managers. This may include consulting, seminar speaking, or membership of a community coalition/organization.
• Please indicate the professional's years of experience and the number of volunteers the professional has managed.

The Rising Star Award recognizes a WVCA member for being an emerging leader in the volunteer management field. Nominations should acknowledge the work and efforts of an emerging volunteer engagement professional. 

Nominee must be:

• Current WVCA member. You may email wvcamembership@gmail.com to confirm the nominee is a registered member.
• In attendance at the May 6th-8th, 2026 Conference Thursday lunch.
• A paid volunteer engagement professional who has been a volunteer professional for less than five years.
• An emerging leader in the volunteer engagement industry within their organization or with their peers.
